FALCON BBS is the oldest BBS alive in Thailand, and probably in the world too. Established since 6 March 1988, it has served the Thai Cyber Society for well over 10 years (now in year 12 of operation) and still lives on up to present time!.
FALCON BBS also acts as the Host or Center of the largest Thai-language Echomail Network in Thailand named FTSN (Free Thailand Sysops' Network) where 10 BBSes nationwide join together using Fidonet-style Mailer & Processor. When a user send mails on one BBS, those mails will be echoed to the remaining BBSes in the Network- through the Host. Therefore, a user who lives in Chiengmai can chat by mails with users in Bangkok without having to pay long-distance phone call, he just log on and send mails on the BBS in Chiengmai (MCC BBS 66-053-232-538 24 hrs), that BBS will forward those mails to FALCON BBS in Bangkok, where they will be bundled for the remaining BBSes (who will 'poll' and exchange Echomails with FALCON every night beginning 1 am, automatically).
Echomails of FTSN are divided into 17 Areas by subject or topic of the matter chatted, namely Modem_Group, Thai_Echo, Local_Sysop, Entertain, C_Language, Windows, Programming, Games, Crisis, Fire_Love, Thai_gossip, Thai_Ham, Internet, Marketplace, Warez, Speed, and Linux - similar to Newsgroups on Internet but 80-90% of the mails are in Thai. (English mails are also welcome and answered). You can select to read/write mails in the Area(s) of your interest. And no matter on what BBS (list belowed) you send mails, your mails will appear on all BBSes in the list:
We also have several Multi-BBS On-line Games- the most popular is named BRE (Barren Realm Elite)- played among 7 BBSes (and some of them joined with League 65 which is an International League). The game, though only text-based, is quite addictive for players. They keep playing days after days, months after month.

Update (24 July 2001)
To remind old BBS users of good old days, I've retrieved some old files which I
created long ago but not seemed to be published anywhere. And a piece of paper
with names and signatures of 27 users who joined FALCON BBS Meeting Party in 1996.
This may remind you of some old friends that you met and forgot.
What you have read above was a reality just a few years back, but at
this moment in time (mid 2001) it's all history!. Only my BBS (FALCON)
survives and lives on as "the oldest and the only BBS alive in Thailand"
(dial 66-02-381-2632 to prove). Its "peak" time was in 1991 or 10 years
ago when it was next to impossible to log on my BBS because the
line was busy most of the time - even at 2-5 AM!. FALCON BBS then
received 90-100 calls a day. Today, it is at "rock-buttom" time,
receiving just a few calls per day. But as long as it is still being
called, I'll keep it up at all costs - so as to extend the legendary life
of this 14-years-old and-still-breathing, amazing BBS!
July 2010 Update
I don't remember the exact month and year when FALCON BBS went out of service.
It's probably not long after 2001. At that time it had only one user left who
was granted special privilege to access all file areas. Hardware failure was the
main cause - dust filled up and the power supply's fan was unable to revolve.
I thought BBS time was over, it's not worth the cost recovering old BBS system
for just one user. My website had been running for several years by then, and
Internet is the way to go.

ก่อนที่จะพูดถึง FALCON BBS ผมขอขยายความคำว่า BBS ก่อน เพราะบางท่านอาจจะไม่รู้จัก BBS ย่อมาจาก Bulletin Board System ซึ่งหมายถึงระบบสารสนเทศที่ใช้คอมพิวเตอร์เป็นฐาน (Computer-Based Information System) BBS ทำหน้าที่เป็นศูนย์กลาง ผู้ที่สนใจสามารถใช้ Hyper Terminal ของ Windows สั่งโมเด็มหมุนโทรศัพท์ติดต่อเข้าไป เพื่ออ่าน/เขียนจดหมาย (E-mails หรือ mails) และแลกเปลี่ยนแฟ้มข้อมูล (files ทุกประเภท) ระหว่างกันได้ โดยไม่เสีย ค่าใช้จ่ายใดๆ นอกจากค่าโทรศัพท์เท่านั้น BBS ทุกแห่งในประเทศไทยให้บริการฟรี
FALCON BBS เป็น BBS ที่เก่าแก่ที่สุดในประเทศไทยที่ยังเปิดให้บริการอยู่ โดยเปิดมาตั้งแต่ วันที่ 6 มีนาคม 2531 และอยู่ยงคงทนจนทุกวันนี้ รวมเวลากว่า 10 ปีแล้ว เป็น free 0n-line Service Provider (OSP) ที่ให้บริการยาวนานที่สุดด้วย

นอกจากนี้ เรายังมี On-line games เป็นเกมแบบ Multi-BBS คือแข่งขันหรือต่อสู้กันข้าม BBS เกมที่ได้รับความนิยมมากที่สุด ชื่อว่า BRE (Barren Realm Elite) ซึ่งมี BBS เข้าร่วมทั้งหมด 7 แห่ง และบางแห่งก็ไปร่วมรบใน League 65 ของต่างประเทศอีกด้วย คือไม่ได้รบกันแต่ในเมืองไทย เท่านั้น ยังรบข้ามโลกกับฝรั่งที่อยู่ต่างประเทศด้วย

ข้อมูลเพิ่มเติม (24 กรกฎาคม 2544)
สิ่งที่ท่านได้อ่านข้างต้น เป็นความจริงเมื่อ 2-3 ปีที่ผ่านมานี้เอง แต่ ณ เวลานี้ (กลางปี 2544)
มันเป็นประวัติศาสตร์ไปแล้วทั้งสิ้น มีเพียง BBS ของผมคือ FALCON BBS เท่านั้น
ที่อยู่รอดและอยู่ต่อไปในฐานะ "BBS ที่เก่าแก่ที่สุดและแห่งเดียวที่ยังเหลืออยู่ในประเทศไทย"
(โทร. 02-381-2632 เพื่อพิสูจน์) ช่วงเวลา "รุ่งเรืองสุดขีด" ของมันคือปี 2534 ซึ่งตอนนั้น
มันแทบจะเป็นไปไม่ได้เลยที่จะเข้า log on (เพื่อใช้บริการ) BBS ของผม เพราะสายไม่ว่าง
เกือบตลอดเวลา แม้กระทั่งระหว่างตี2 - ตี5 ! FALCON BBS ขณะนั้นรับสายถึงวันละ
90-100 ครั้ง ณ วันนี้ FALCON BBS อยู่ในยุค "ตกต่ำสุดขีด" รับสายเพียงวันละ
2-3 ครั้งเท่านั้น แต่ตราบเท่าที่ยังมีคนเรียกเข้า เพื่อใช้บริการ ผมก็จะรักษามันไว้ต่อไป
ไม่ว่าต้องลงทุนเท่าใด - ทั้งนี้ก็เพื่อยืดอายุ ชีวิตอันเหมือนตำนานของ BBS อายุ 14 ปี
และยังคงหายใจอยู่ แห่งนี้!
