Arnhem Operation, 1944 - by ICM

One of the most violent battles on the Western Front in 1944 was Arnhem Operation. German infantry and armour troops confronted two US Airbornes and the British 1st Airborne which had been tasked with the capture of strategic crossings between the Belgian/Dutch border and the Lower Rhine. British and Polish paratroopers attacked the furthest bridge in Arnhem, This was the bridge too far. The Wehrmacht and the 2nd SS Panzer Corps responded swiftly and violently and forced the embattled survivors to withdraw.
