For some twenty years now, the Leopard 2 has been the best tank in its category ; employed in the German army and in other European nations. It has since its initial appearance, undergone a series of upgrades to keep it up to date with weapons development. At present the A6 version, which features ultra-modern engine and armaments control technology, is being put through trials. The new armour has also been improved in terms of both ballistics and materials, thus making the Leopard even safer for its crew. The longer-barrel gun allows use of the latest high-speed projectiles capable of penetrating even the toughest composite armours.
