3 July 2009 : Today I proudly present Model Maniac Page 48 - Part D. In this Part, "Tazmanian" - my visiting modeler - presents Sweden STRV-103C and LAV-25 from Trumpeter and Typhoon Class Submarine 1:350 from CN, while "Toom" - my permanent modeler - presents Panzer Kampfwagen III Ausf.N, a high-tech kit from Gunze Sangyo and USS BB-55 North Carolina 1:350 from Trumpeter.
And same as the last three dozen Parts, all pictures in this Part were taken using "time exposure" technique so as to achieve highest depth of field, i.e., using a tripod, setting shutter priority and selecting shutter speed that gives the highest f-stop (f19-f22) and setting self-timer for shutter release. Lighting is natural, pictures were taken outdoor under the shades during daytime. Pictures were scanned directly from film by the photo shop, written on to a CD and resized by me. As always, I hope you'll enjoy viewing!

Containing nearly a hundred white metal parts and brass barrel, this is one of the heaviest model kits which weighs in at around 240g (8.5 Oz)
Apart from doing the riggings using fine threads made from burnt CottonBud sprues, "Toom" also scrathbuilt the white life-rings around the ship, detailed up the catapults and added metal chains sought from a flea market. Some of those jobs were above and beyond the call of duty. Very well done, Toom!"
