If you have frequented my Model Maniac Pages,
you might have noticed that Page 8
takes much longer "production time" than previous ones. The reason it takes longer
time is because of the influence of Page 7 and several cute dioramas. Now everybody
want dioramas, and since Page 7 clearly told where they were from, everybody go
there... to the same shop where my dioramas came from... "Studio 9" model shop.
For example, a son of a Thai diplomat who lives in USA ordered the modelling of USS
Enterprise 1:350 (for 9,000 Baht or US$ 225) plus many other items, all to be taken
to USA. Another, an owner of a model shop ordered the dioramas of WWII series
"by the hundreds". I happened to know that he got orders from some millionaires.
These two persons alone took most, if not all, of Arjarn Tang's time. And there is
still a Member of Parliament, an old customer who order the modelling of warplanes
"by the dozens". The models I ordered for modelling are left untouched for months,
but that's OK with me. I'm glad that he gets more jobs.
Page 7 seems to have great impact on the
modelling profession of professional modellers in Thailand. Several model shops
now advertise in several model magazines that now they have this kind of service,
and it's something nobody had advertised before the introduction of Page 7.
-"Battlefield Weekly" (สมรภูมิ), in its September xx, 1999 issue (# 95x) states that
at "Combat Zone" model shop, modelling service is now available "by professionals".
-"Modeller Club #4, on its back cover, two model shops advertise modelling service
by professional modellers (the same shop didn't advertise that in #3). All these things
seem to prove the popularity of my Model Maniac Pages and their effect on the vast
modelling community of Thailand. And, of course, it's my pride taking part in stimulating
that community to be more active and more colorful.
It's a pain in the ass to check for the prices
of ALL models & modelling services used here in Page 8, but I'm a Man of Statistics
and Numeric, I DID that. After that the act of summing them up isn't difficult any more.
I can tell you that ALL the models and dioramas in Page 8 set me back by US$ 1,379.
But that's not a problem. My problem is that I don't have space to keep the models
any more, whether assembled or not. Isn't that too bad?

ได้ยินว่าจะขนไปโชว์ที่สหรัฐทั้งหมด (รายนี้เขาบอกเลยว่ารู้จักร้าน Studio 9 เพราะ Home Page แห่งนี้)
อีกรายนึง เป็นเจ้าของร้านโมเดลแห่งหนึ่ง สั่งทำ dioramas ชุดสงครามโลกครั้งที่ 2 "ว่ากันเป็นร้อย"
ชุดเลย ผมบังเอิญไปรู้มาว่าเขาไปได้ order ชนิดไม่อั้นมาจากเศรษฐีใหญ่บางราย เพียงแค่สองรายนี้
ก็เอาเวลาส่วนใหญ่ ถ้าไม่ใช่ทั้งหมด ของอาจารย์ถัง ไปแล้ว และยังมี ส.ส. รายนึงเป็นลูกค้าเก่า ซึ่งก็สั่งทำ
เครื่องบิน "ทีละเป็นโหล" เหมือนกัน โมเดลที่ผมสั่งทำ ไม่ได้ถูกแตะต้องเลยเป็นเดือนๆ แต่ผมก็ไม่ได้ว่า
อะไรหรอกนะ ผมดีใจที่อาจารย์ถังหรือเฮียสามารถแกมีงานเข้ามากขึ้น
Page 7 ดูจะมีผลกระทบหนักหน่วง ต่ออาชีพการทำโม
ของนักประกอบโมเดลมือโปรในประเทศไทย ร้านโมเดลหลายร้านตอนนี้ก็โฆษณาในนิตยสารโมเดลหลายฉบับ
ว่าตอนนี้พวกเขามีบริการรับจ้างประกอบโมเดลโดยช่างมืออาชีพ มันเป็นสิ่งที่ไม่มีใครเคยโฆษณามาก่อนเลย
ก่อนการนำเสนอ Page 7 ทั้งหมดนี้ ดูจะพิสูจน์ความนิยมใน Model Maniac Pages
ของผม และผลที่พวกมันมีต่อชุมชนนักสะสมโมเดลอันกว้างขวางของประเทศไทย และ แน่นอน
ผมภูมิใจที่มีส่วนกระตุ้นให้วงการโมเดลของเมืองไทยมีความคึกคัก ตื่นตัว มากขึ้น
มันเป็นเรื่องที่เจ็บปวดมาก ในการเช็คหาราคาค่าโมเดลทุกชิ้น
และค่าจ้างทำโมเดลทุกอัน ที่ใช้ใน Page 8 นี้ แต่ผมเป็นนัก(นิยม)สถิติและตัวเลข ก็เลยทำ หลังจากนั้นการรวมยอด
มันเข้าด้วยกันก็ไม่ใช่เรื่องยากอีกต่อไป ผมสามารถบอกท่านได้ว่า โมเดลและไดโอราม่าทั้งหมดที่อยู่ใน
Page 8 นี้ ทำให้ผมจนลงไปตั้ง 52,400.- บาท แน่ะ (ไม่เชื่อก็ลองรวมยอดดูก็ได้) แต่นั่นไม่ใช่ปัญหา
ปัญหาของผมอยู่ที่ การไม่มีที่จะเก็บโมเดลอีกแล้ว ไม่ว่าประกอบแล้วหรือยังไม่ได้ประกอบก็ตาม แย่จังเลย จริงมั้ย?
