T-80 UDK - SKIF's No. 226, released in 2004
In comparison with the basic model T-80 UD the commanding T-80 UDK tank is additionally equipped with a time-fuse sapping system for high-explosive shells with an electronic proximity contact fuse, and optic-electronic neutralization system, a short-wave radio station, a navigational apparatus, and self-contained power supply electro generator.

The primary armament of the tank is a 125 mm smoothbore tank gun-launcher. The ammunition supply consists of 45 rounds of separate-loading. The ammunition load includes a round with a guided missile.

The fire control system provides target acquisition and tracking of the target by the commander and by the gunner, automatic input of correction for non-standard condition of fire, laying and stabilization of the gun, launching and automatic guidance of the missile and target designation from the comander.

The hull is of a welded structure with the large angles of inclination of the front parts. The turret is cast. Its front plate has a combined armor protection. Protection against mass destruction weapon is achieved by the structural strength and hardness of the hull and turret, extra shielding, sealing system and air cleaning system in crew compartment.

Smoke dischargers and "Tucha" smoke grenade launchers are used for smoke screening. The tank is equipped with the entrenching tools and the device for hanging up a mine sweeper.

The tank is powered by 2-stroke diesel 6TD engine. The engine power is 736 kilowatt (1000 h.p.). The engine is multifuel, compact and economizing. The tank has seven forward gears and one reverse. The caterpillar track assembly consists of the caterpillar tracks with rubberized track shoes and rubber-metallic hinges. The tank is equipped with the independent torsion-bar suspension.

The tank is provided with the effective fire fighting system as well as with the deep wading equipment that permits water fording up to 5 meters deep.
