30 September 2011 : There is an old Chinese sayings well known among Thais: "There is no feast that goes without ending", and oh, it's so true!. So when there is a beginning, sooner or later, there will be an end. I have served the BAAC (Bank for Agriculture & Agricultural Cooperatives) - my first and only employer in this life time - well over 36 years from the very beginning to the very end. And it ends today! While it's such a relief that I don't have to work anymore, I feel a little worry that the assets I've acquired over the years may not be enough for my future 20-30 years spending. But that's little worry because I've acquired quite a lot (model collection not counted).

For those who retires this year (131 total), the BAAC has held many events in honor of them. Starting from:
1. Organizing a 5 days/4 nights Nature/Health Care Tour at Ganjanaburi Province in Early August (I didn't join because I can't stay off-line that long).
2. Organizing 3days/2 nights tour at HongKong, Macao & ShenChen in late August by absorbing 75% of the cost (I didn't go because I don't like flying).
3. Organizing Long-Serving Shield/Badge Presentation and a Feast at a first-class hotel on 22 September evening (I didn't join because it rained that evening, I thought now that I'd get wet I'd better ride my motorbike straight back home.)
4. The BAAC Officers Association conducted a one-day-tour to Si-Chang Island & Ang Sila (Chonburi Province) and a feast at Bang Pu (Samutpragarn Province) on 23 September. I joined and was glad to meet old bosses, friends and colleagues. (This event allowed old ex-officers to join at a little cost and there were 278 tourists filling 7 double-deck buses) The day tour and food was magnificent, the evening feast was even more marvellous. There was unlimited amount of food, liquer, beer and wine. I think I drank more than 2 bottles of wine that night, it's such a fine wine. I usually don't drink, but this is a special event, a special case. ;-) (Images of this event are available down the page).
5. Organizing a final nationwide Retirement Festival at the New Government Center Building (Jang Wattana) on 24 September evening. It's such a very big building, I joined I counted from a chart that there were 358 tables and each table has 10 chairs. Most tables had some vacant seats, so total guests would be aroud 2,500 - 3,000 persons. Each officer who retires was given a shield/badge as a souvenir from the bank. The food was good and all kinds of drinks were available. I chose liquer (Black) mixed with Coke for a change. Officers from all around the country joined this special event.
(Images of this event are available down the page).
